Artistan is the culmination of our efforts to raise money for flood survivors and regeneration, while showcasing the creativity of a diverse, vibrant and beautiful country. We began as a group of professional British women of Pakistani origin, seeking to confront the negative stereotypes of Pakistan with our own experiences of a land bursting with art, music and poetry, albeit one facing tremendous challenges.

Since we conceived this idea we have been joined by many friends with backgrounds as varied and interesting as those we are seeking to help.

We have been struck by the difficulty of donating money in a climate where corruption is endemic, and the main aim of our organisation is to do the 'legwork' for our donors: to identify suitable projects; to identify reliable partners already established in the area; and to deliver the money personally via a completely transparent route. We are also committed to providing feedback and updates on the projects we fund.
